March 29, 2004 Fire Near Reed Point

About 2:00 pm today a cell phone caller reported a fire west of Reed Point. The fire was located on the north side of the Yellowstone River on private property.

Firefighters from Big Timber and Reed Point responded with about 15 trucks. The fire burned in timber and grass in the bottom of a steep coulee. The cause is unknown at this time. Between 35 and 40 firefighters completed a fire line around the 20-acre fire and began mopping up at about 5:00 pm.
